Deep Creek’s Pizza Pub
Pizza Pub was a familiar Deep Creek gathering place at the site later associated with UNO’s and Honi-Honi. John Guthrie Luke III’s family obituary records that he owned and operated it as a young man.
Its place in local memory extends beyond food. In a first-person account published by Frostburg State University, Richard Frush recalls playing there with Thunderhill during the 1970s and 1980s, when the group’s members were teachers at Keyser High School.
Surviving menu and advertising items in the centennial archive help document this earlier chapter of lakeside dining. They are evidence of a remembered business, not proof that the sandwich on today’s menu reproduces one of its recipes. The precise opening date and ownership sequence remain matters for further research.
