Wynlyn’s Edge Bar and Restaurant
Wynlyn’s Edge belongs to the lake’s restaurant and entertainment history around the junction of Glendale Road and Route 219. A public community account places its origins around 1976 and credits William Sr. and Evelyn Weissgerber, together with Mel and Wynnie Eiben, with the business.
That account explains the distinctive name as a combination of Wynnie and Evelyn. The centennial archive independently preserves an item labeled “Wynlyns 1980,” a tangible trace of the business in the lake’s resort era.
The spelling has varied in surviving references. Here the sandwich keeps the shop’s “Wynlyn’s,” while the historical subject is identified as Wynlyn’s Edge. The approximate opening date and name origin come from a community history and should be checked against an original advertisement or family record before a public launch.
